Unfair parking fees in SM

September 2nd, 2007 by twixter

I went to Megamall to meet up with my
honey. We were supposed to kill our time before i report for work, but
what happened was such hellish!

Parking was full, they still had let me in. When I got there, there
were SO MANY cars waiting for vacant slots. I roamed every level until
I reached the rooftop, but to no avail.

I called my hon and we decided to leave the mall and go somewhere
else where we can have a decent parking. At the 4th level cashier, the
lady was demanding that I pay P45 (flat rate). I said, “I wasn’t able
to get a parking space, why should i pay?”. She said it’s a policy. I
insisted to get a supervisor, many cars have been waiting on queue. She
asked me to go to the next level.

I thought the supervisor will wait for me at the next level. I
roamed the whole level, no space still. A lot of cars are still waiting
for their spaces.  My hon arrived. We demanded that we leave. We
haven’t reached their 15-minute mark at the previous level, now they’re
asking us to look for a parking space at lower levels. Waste of time, waste of gasoline. I still demanded for a supervisor, the next cashier told the guard, the guards told the other guards, they asked us to wait.

A “parking slot” for TaBY

After for probably 5 minutes, no supervisor. They looked for a slot
for me. They asked me to follow the other guards. A guard led me to a
“parking slot” in between a big post and a metal barrier where cars
shouldn’t be parked at all.

If you could just imagine Megamall’s parking, once you go up the
ramp, my car’s the first one you’ll see, er, bump. It is alanganin. all
the cars are like, I I I I I , then my car is like — at the end, where
cars are making u-turns.

Customer Relations Office

So we were still expecting for a supervisor. The guards asked us to
go to an office, which is their customer relations office and talk to
another guard on duty and their commander. Seemed like they were not
informed of our complaint despite all those radio communications they
were “doing”.

We explained our side.. their policies of charging people P45 and
the expectations they’ve set that we’ll be talking to a supervisor. I
should have taken down the names of all those people. They were all
very helpful, Mr. Fernandez and Mr. Limbangon, but, we decided to leave
the mall instead. The “parking slot” they alloted for us was a danger.
We were in no mood to go to that mall anymore.

Our points:

- Other parking areas in other malls will not charge you anything if
you leave in 15 minutes, especially if you’re not able to find a
parking slot. You’re paying for the parking space anyway. Besides,
you’ve wasted enough gas already.

- 45 pesos? That’s nothing. We can pay for that, but hey, be FAIR. be fucking fair.

- Some parking areas have a pay-per-entry policy, but they won’t let you enter not unless there’s a vacant slot.

- If anybody asks for a supervisor, aren’t they entitled to speak to
a supervisor? These cashiers and guards told us they’ve contacted their
supervisor. THEY ARE SUCH LIARS.

- They do not have procedures for such complaints, or any complaint for that matter. If they do, they have a lot of loopholes.

The guards waived our P45 parking fee when we left, but the cashiers were like palengkeras
who were blaming each other for what happened. That’s not our problem.
If they had just called for a supervisor, they wouldn’t be whining like
that.

I’m not complaining about the parking fees if we are able to use
their services. They always have a disclaimer that it’s not their
responsibility for any loss or damages in the car, anyway, right? so
parking should be cheap, or free. Sen. Bong Revilla and the others should push for the ban on imposing fees in shopping malls.

We then headed to Trinoma instead. Larger parking lots, bigger mall, better ambiance.

A very happy birthday for me!

June 18th, 2007 by twixter

June 14, the day i turned a year older
again… hay. It was just a simple day. cooked spag in the morning, had
lunch and fun at the office, went home, ate more spaghetti and more cake.

Yep, that day, we had 4 cakes. Mom and I bought caramel cake from
becky’s the day before. That same day, dad also bought 3 cakes, all
from conti’s. Their mango tart is to die for!

That was just the beginning…

Friday, I rushed home to get TaBY from the house.

My hon said he has to take a client out to dinner, I can join them
anyway. I really didn’t want to be with them, so he said, 8:30pm, after
their dinner, we can have dinner… just the 2 of us.

I got there 8:30pm after an almost fight with a driver at the
parking lot for hoarding 2 parking spaces. I didn’t care if he drives a
BMW 525 car.

Anyway, my hon’s alone. He said the client was fetched by his boss…
but it’s taking them so long. I bombarded him with a lot of questions
and worries… “who else will be coming?”, “i’m the only one who’s not
from your company, I might be ‘out of place’”, “why did you just get 8
seats if their gf’s and bf’s are also coming?”.. Hay, I really didn’t
want to meet new people. I think I am antisocial. I didn’t want to
order much, I didn’t want to eat nor drink much. I AM SHY. mwahaha!

After a few minutes, someone behind me covered my eyes… “knought?”
So i was wondering why is she here.. She opened my eyes and it was
Cathee!!!! With her were Jay and Eric, then Toni and Kat… IT STILL
DIDN’T SINK IN. WHAT ABOUT MY HON’S CLIENT??? HAHAHA how obobs of me!

When I finally realized more people are coming in, I was so excited,
hugging everyone as if i’m drugged with ecstacy. I think I was coz I
found myself wiping off my tears. Jinggoy said, “tears of joy aren’t
real.” I almost bit his arm.

A few more minutes later, Kate, Dona, Day, and Olan arrived. Rain
was also there and became our idol photographer. Gilbz and Cams
followed and even took a con-call during the dinner. Still touched they
were all present.

I think it has been more than a year since I’ve seen most of them,
more than 2 years since all of us got together again. I was soooooooooo
happy that night. I couldn’t thank my hon enough for doing that. I was
the happiest person that night.

Too bad, it was kinda bitin, my hon had to go home and sleep. I still was happy until I got home.

Img_6663I missed my friends. I’m thankful I’ve met them and they’ve become a
very big part of my life. I’m thankful they were there for my birthday,
participating in what my hon organized.

I LOVE YOU GUYS!

careless me

May 18th, 2007 by twixter

on my way to work, i carelessly slipped my right foot on the
pavement. it slipped a bit inwards, so it was a bit painful. i regained
my poise and walked normally to my office.

good thing, my
officemates and i were kinda amused with the ice trays and ice maker in
the freezer, there were lots of ice. So i placed some on my foot.
little by little, i thought it was becoming well.

i told my mom
i got sprained and i cant drive us home. she immediately called dad and
asked him to fetch me and bring me to the hospital. I asked them to
fetch me after work instead. My mom said, NOW. :(

She was right.
On my way down, I couldnt walk anymore. The ramp on the building
entrance took me about 5 mins to get to the car.

we proceeded
to the Philippine Orthopedic Hospital after some lunch. The wait was so
long. wait for your name to be called before the doctor attends to you,
wait again, x-ray, wait for the results, wait for your turn for the
doctor, wait for your turn for the x-ray again, wait for your turn for
the doctor again… endless!

well, nah, it wasnt really
endless. in the end, the doctor said there was no fracture at all
(thank goodness!) but i have to keep the bandage on my foot for 2 weeks
and rest my foot a bit. i was prescribed pain relievers if i cant
tolerate the pain. i have allergies, remember? but as much as possible,
avoid taking it.

it’s a bad sprained ankle. i couldnt walk at all, so i’m using crutches to walk. oh well…

Foot

right
now, i’m at home, skipped work. well, kinda. skipped office but i’m
still working at home. no pay. boo hoo. my foot is resting… she’ll be
better. i hope.

cant post in asylum. i dunno why. sucks.

Balete Drive

April 21st, 2007 by twixter

The light turned green. it signaled us "GO".

We’re the 3rd vehicle along Balete drive to cross Aurora blvd (from
e.rod). the truck behind me turned right, the car opposite our
direction turned left, thus blocking me from crossing. So, I turned a
leeeetle bit to the left, no approaching vehicle, and crossed aurora.

*EEEEEEEEKKKKKKK* (just imagine it’s just the sound of the brakes, i
dunno how to put it in writing). in my peripheral view, a van on our
left’s approaching at full speed (AT DAPAT STOP SYA).

well, he stopped (that’s why there was an *eeeeeekkkkk*). i did stop too, and so did all the traffic. all the pedestrians waiting
at the corner went silent.

he backed a way a bit. Bong went down the car. The driver of the
Mitsubishi Delica van seemed a bit upset (the face!). My hon went down
(who’s at the passenger side- the danger side)… the driver’s upset
level went down. Then I went down.. suddenly, his face became
expressionless. Our light is still green.

"What’s your problem?" I shouted out. The two big guys with me were silent.

The van’s driver looked at my door. No damage. He was silent. Seeing
there wasn’t any damage, we returned to our car walked away. I walked
away staring at the lady passenger who stared at us, not worried, but
with eyes glaring at us. I raised an eyebrow at her. hmph!

Hon told me the driver apologized (which I didn’t hear). No damage done, just a skip of a heartbeat.

It was just too close, the van’s bullbar folded my side mirror inward. No scratches nor dents on TaBY.

I’m glad we’re all safe (especially my honey and Ria who were at the
danger side). We drove away with Bong laughing at me because I was more
aggressive than him and my hon, who were obviously bigger than the
driver.

My first time to almost encouter a major accident.

You may be driving carefully, but others are not. Always stay safe, my friends.

300

March 10th, 2007 by twixter

at first, it was a movie i was hesitant to watch. When Rich mentioned in his multiply blog
that 300 is “c’est un film a voir (it’s the movie to watch)”, i trusted
his word. So I did watch it with my hon and scott. true enough, it’s a
two thumbs up movie.

Movies are supposed to be entertaining. This movie has all: action,
drama, horror and some weird monsters, and of course, a lot of humor in
the script. So, it’s total entertainment, i guess. I dunno what exactly
cinematography is, but whatever i understood on wiki’s description of “cinematography”, i’d say, it’s excellent, despite most (if not all) of the movie itself was filmed in blue and green screen. hehehe

drawbacks: the two guys i was with said it was bitin, and i agree
with them. it shouldn’t be PG-13 coz it’s more gory than “Apocalypto”.
but then again, who cares? the movie’s good. i’ll give it 9 out of 10
stars. ;)

Can’t get enough of “Heroes”

February 13th, 2007 by twixter

I started downloading the first two episodes of “Heroes” and watched
it with my hon. Soon enough, we were watching it together from the PC
downstairs and couldn’t stop. Well, if it wasn’t for dinner, we won’t
be leaving the couch. If I didn’t have work the next day, we might get
to finish until ep14. We just got to watch until the 7th. boooo hooo. (Ep 15 is out now!)

It’s so addictive, like “Dead Like Me
wherein I was able to influence Salie and Bakemono with this series a couple of years back.
Morbid but fun. One of the first few tv series aired in HD tv. Unfortunately, DLM aired only up to season 2, with a total of 29 ep. (

Going back to Heroes, one by one, the characters discover their
powers. though they do not know each other, they come across one
another by chance, and the story creates an arc within an arc. If i only had lots of time… or maybe stop time while we  watch the rest of the episodes.

glad to be back in MNL

January 17th, 2007 by twixter

Home, sweet home! Manila welcomed us with some heavy traffic, but not as heavy as Cebu’s traffic was when we were there with or without the summit.

I’d say, my Cebu trip was not as exciting as it was when we first went there. I was able to see different places, meet new people, and got to shake hands with the President. I was able to see the heads of states. Parties galore! (Thanks to San Miguel and their unlimited supply of beer and E-Aji!) My hon was able to visit me for 2 days. We were all too busy and I got sick,  I wasn’t able to join my colleagues in Maribago and in their beach trip. :(  I wasn’t able to meet up with Reagan and Chi for dinner because I was feeling terribly ill. being sick… that’s what didn’t make it exciting. that really ruined 2 days of my trip!

Cebu’s definitely unforgettable. It was still undeniably fun despite the high stress level (leaving the hotel at 8am and leaving CICC around 9pm, 10pm or 11pm).

I’m proud the summit’s such a success, and our work was one of the most helpful to a lot of people.

Looking at CICC during our last day there when everyone’s packing up and we’re cleaning the computers, I couldn’t help but smile… it was all worth it! I was tired but really proud of what we (ICTO), the organizers and the Cebuanos have accomplished. Everything happened too fast but it was all successful!

Definitely, I’ll be going back to Cebu, for a vacation.. There’s still I lot I haven’t seen yet. Too bad, we didn’t get to see the festivities of Sinulog. Pit Señor!

a long weekend

July 24th, 2006 by twixter

had a long weekend full of celebration. i just hope every weekend’s like this.. or close to this, without the expenses.. hehehe

Friday was supposed to be a dinner with the helpdesk peeps. something we’ve always been planning but due to uncertain circumstances, it ended up with knought and her kid ryan, my hon and me. later in the evening, bakemono and cathee followed but all was too soon, we ended up going home instead. Cathee and I greeted my hon, Joe at exactly midnight for his birthday. :)

Saturday was my hon’s birthday! I went to his house and brought a cake. Friends followed: Scott, Oliver, Bong, and Ria. We finished half of the cake and some spag Ate Bombo made for her li’l bro Jinggs. After eating, we all went to Morato for some coffee and play CS and DotA. I need more practice. We lost 2 games. Thanks to master Oliver for the help. hey, it was 3 against the 2 of us! I got home around 2am. Caffeine kicked in a bit late and I got to sleep at 4am. :(

Sunday, I woke up at 6:30am and I woke my hon up at 7am. only 2 hours of sleep and I drove to tagaytay with him for a li’l surprise. It seems like all surprises are made to be spoiled…. if we didn’t get lost, it will still be a surprise for him. damn!  anyway, we went to this somewhat secluded spa, Nurture Spa and we had a full-body massage in a couple’s room. it was just a massage but oh yes… it was sooooooo relaxing. didn’t get the overnight accommodations coz it’s out of my budget.

anyway, we then went to dencio’s for lunch. it wasn’t raining (coz we left stormy Manila that morning) but the climate is really nice and cool!  it gave us the opportunity to visit the mini zoo! whee!!!!

we got to see a a lot of birds, some cute tigers, a lion, some procupines, alligators, more birds, fishes, and hmmm.. rodents! lots of ‘em! them rodents eating the birds’ food! bad!

there were a lot of animals but i really feel sorry for some of them. i’m not sure if it’s because of the rodents or the people who maintain them, but some birds do not have claws anymore. they have like, amputated feet. :( the wallaby walks limp and the civet cat’s tail has a fresh wound at its tip. the lion is skinny and so are some of the tigers too. some monkeys are bunched up hugging each other because of the cold climate. there’s an overly-fed rooster walking around and a miniature horse trimming the zoo’s grass and pooping everywhere. the 5-legged cow’s stepping on its own poo with 4 of its legs. :(  also saw a rude visitor who splashed his water on the lion just to get its attention.

Hay, poor animals. If only they’re being cared for properly with the PhP 95 everybody pays for the entrance. where does the money go? :( cruelty, i say!

just a few pix i took using my cam phone. i didn’t expect we’ll be going to the zoo. i should’ve brought my digicam!

anyway, it was still an enjoying day, despite seeing the animals in their condition. we were supposed to go up further to Batulao but it’s so foggy, we went home instead.

Tagaytay pix here!!!

Manila welcomed us back with a heavy traffic at the south super highway and the travel time going home was around 3 hours.

I fell asleep in my hon’s house while the kids ate dinner. Got almost stuck outside the house because of the floodwater on our street.

Well, it’s Monday once again. It’s storming outside. It was declared that we don’t have work. Since it’s SONA, i have to report to the office to upload the news. So here I am, waiting for the news. it’s an hour since the address was done and they haven’t posted news yet! it’s getting dark already and I think I’m the only one on the floor, the guard’s on the ground floor and it’s 4 stories down. My hon’s waiting for my text, might meet up with him. it’s our lunar. :( not a nice way to celebrate it. :(

20 days to go

May 26th, 2006 by twixter

I can’t believe it… 10 days ago, I passed my resignation letter. in 20 more days, I’ll be out of the company.. I’ll be a bum. I WILL BE FREE!

Yes, after 4 years and 6 months of working, I’ll be leaving the company. I have a lot of reasons for resigning but mainly, I am tired of working like this. I need a break. I have no regrets, no further plans yet but I have a lot to be thankful for.

After graduating last November 2001, I was immediately hired by Sykes to be part of the bravocool batch of the butterfly. I didn’t realize working would be fun, especially if you’re with good friends. I met my best friends, knought and cathee. The Kelots and the Bebots of this batch were (and still are) the coolest peeps! None of us ever thought that after 3 years of sharing this bond, a relationship will bloom.. ayan na ang joe-maya love team!
Anyway, I won’t be able to buy a car, a tv, a cellphone.. and all those stuff without working my a$$ off in this job. It’s not just the money I am thankful for.

I’m even more thankful, I got to be with more friends after i got promoted to Level 2… those are Helfdesk peeps.  Through thick and thin, we were all there for each other. This kind of job was the job I was looking for and I never left it…. even if there were other opportunities (TM openings we ignored, MBS job offers we declined), we stayed there.  We were one big happy family. Unfortunately, it left us when the butterfly died.

So, a demotion at "Buscar" got me to be with the Wave 8 peeps. So smart, kulit but sweet.. most of them call me "ate maya" even if the others are older than me. I’ll miss this young batch of peeps I got to be with.

As of now, I’m planning to take some rest and make sure I’ll be losing weight. My neuro told me I’m so stressed out. I guess this is the best thing I could do to take care of myself.

Another thing that added much to my stress level is losing my wallet.. big deal, huh? should be. To whoever got my wallet in the 25th floor cr at 5:30 in the morning of May 22,2006.. that was big time. spend big bucks, but be considerate enough to return my SSS ID, PRC ID, medical prescriptions, and receipts. I believe in Karma and the Wiccan three-fold law

Ever mind the Rule of Three,
Three times what thou givest returns to thee.
This lesson well, thou must learn,

The only gets what thou dost earn!

As for my career, as much as possible, I don’t want to take calls anymore and be in a job which will require night shifts. Most probably, not a call-center career anymore… but what’s left?

the opposite

November 21st, 2005 by twixter

i had a blast last summer without work (june and july), and now comes the opposite…

our account has ended. the butterfly is dead. good thing, we still have jobs, unfortunately, it’s like a demotion… back to taking level 1 calls for DSL this time. training’s in graveyard shift… how cute.

this one’s more cute and this had made me stop working again for a month.

finding out the real truth was one of the most difficult things to realize, especially if a gay doctor looks at the ulrasound pictures and says in a high-pitched voice, "aaaay, may cyst ka nga!". HOW PATHETIC CAN HE GET?! got 2 cysts in me, one in each ovary. got a second opinion from a more trusted doctor in a diff hospital and she confirmed it. aside from that, she also added i have a condition called "adenomyosis". this one cant be cured by an operation. i have to take medications for this.

it’s difficult to be a woman!

the docs have to slice up my tummy, just like in a c-section… they have to make a horizontal 7-inch incision  near my pelvic bone. the operation was such an experience, waking up when the operation was almost done, asking the doctors if i’d really be awake coz i could feel the movement on my tummy. i was just talkative and funny in the operating table.

recovery in the hospital was really painful and all i did was rant and ask for some injectible narcs. now, almost 3 weeks have passed and i’m recovering pretty well, though my tummy still feels painfully numb (cant describe it but it’s something like that).

good thing both cysts are benign and they were able to save my ovaries… babies, babies, babies!!!!!!

gonna be back to work this december and i’m not sure what’s in store for me.

thanks for those who prayed for me! *hugs* to you!!!
